A substantial part of his magic comes from a battery driven front end- which could, one supposes, qualify it as an integrated amp-that accounts for its near dead level silence and breathtaking low inherent noise level. The ASR Emitter II Exclusive battery does not sound like a solid state amp nor does it sound like a tubed unit. The Emitter does have a yin like darkness to its character and that character becomes more audible when the amp is asked to shake the house. The Basis Exclusive as such was a revolution- it had such a low noise floor it allowed nuances of harmonics and spatial information to emerge a velvet black background.
